Experience so far with Nest battery, vs older nest hello.
  • It’s really long. I’ll need a new mount for my cedar siding. On order from Etsy, but google should really start including an option for such. Currently, I’m using the old mount, which kind of sort of works. Sort of.
  • It automatically picked a wifi network from my home. I’d prefer an easier way for me to select the network in case I have to set up a repeater/mesh in the future. Totally resetting the doorbell would be a drag, and as I recall it just picked. I had no options to select.
  • Alerts seem  faster than with the hello
  • The 20% angle on the adapter is better for me then the 15% angle of the original hello. It will be better to see packages, when combined with the greater vertical view with the new unit.
  • I have it hard wired. Now I have to figure out how to remove the hello chime connector. It works with it installed, but looks ugly.
  • Live alerts come to iPhone fast, and Apple Watch too, but unlike hello, no picture is sent to Apple Watch, just the alert.
  • I lost a small mounting screw when installing the plate to the adapter, but nest tech support is incapable of telling me the size of the screw. They are going to research and get back to me in 24 hours. Annoying. If anyone knows the size, please let me know. It’s the small one that goes from the plate to the wedge.
  • When I flip to live view in the google home app, the first time it sometimes does not bring up video right away, but if I refresh it comes right up. Alerts with video are fine. I think its a sleep issue. It’s possible it could be a wifi strength issue, but I’m getting three bars out of 4 from the router, so hopefully that is not it.

How do I get the iWatch App? I don’t have one in my Iwatch dock, and there is not a separate app in the App Store. I’m not sure how to find it!
