It’s been over a year since Google promised updates to the Home App. It’s been just about as long since I bought their flood light cams only to find out they wouldn’t work in the nest app. What an utter disappointment. I can’t creat video clips unless Google says it’s an event. So 24/7 recording is worthless. Google either needs to start proving results or sell the platform off. I am ready to start investigation whether they have defrauded their customers and if this qualifies as a class action. Google get it fixed now. We have been complaining since you made the changes. Time to step up!

I couldn't agree more. When I bought my first Nest camera in March, 2021 I couldn't have been happier with it. Worked great. Alerted me to some intoxicated person trying to open my front door early morning after 4th of July. A year later I bought two more and that's when I discovered Google took it over and I had to use Google Home. It's awful. Every time a car drives by it says it saw "a person". Every time anyone leaves the house, I get three alerts. "Saw someone", "heard someone", "saw a familair face". Then the garbage truck stops in front of my house with all it's noise and nothing. No alert at all. I work from home and see people walk on the sidewalk in front of my house all the time and never get alerts. Or if I do, it's not until they are just going out of camera view. When it was Next, it always alerted me. I hate Google Home so much I'm thinking about selling these cameras and going with something different. These can't be trusted at all.

I’d have never purchased a new Nest camera knowing it does not integrate with the Nest app. The ability to record 24/7, not just alerts is critical for me. The Home app is a step backward from the functionality offered by the Nest app. Given the time this disparity has existed it appears this isn't a priority for Google.

That is a crap excuse as I have to use the Nest app to view my other 4 cameras and then the Google Home app for my Nest Cam with Floodlight.
Seriously Google? Can you not allow us to see all our GOOGLE PRODUCTS ON ONE APP??

Why didn't Google just stay with the Nest platform and user interface? It's SO much better in so many ways and everyone prefers it. The Google Home platform is ugly and not user friendly. Google - listen to your customers...

Even by doing this, Google management will trot out the same "enhanced experience" line. Seriously though, how do two DIFFERENT apps enhance anyone's experience?
Very frustrating, especially when it appears that there's no real effort to truly address the problem.

Hey folks,
Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://goo.gle/3A7x7ug web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.
However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.
Best Regards,
Brad

Brad this is a load of crap. Having that integration is nice, but I and a substantial number of Nest Users want the same abilities we have in the Nest App. Like creating clips when we want them, not when you guys dictate we need them based on events. That is my number one grip. And then I have to bounce between two different apps to manage them. This is not what I signed up for, but more what's being forced on us. Feels a little like you guys are being Dictators. Then you guys promise that you will have it all fixed in a year. Yet here we are still waiting. I have turned this matter over to a class action attorney and they are investigating to see if this is worthy of class action. They felt that it had some very strong potential. Because at the end of the day you guys are doing nothing to resolve it. All you have to do is allow everything to work cohesively in the same framework. Restore the same capabilities we have in Nest in the Google Home App, and for crying out loud give us a freaking web interface!!!! As a developer I know this requires some work, but you have had plenty of time to get it done. Now make it a priority and get it done or prepare to face the piper.

I just submitted via the Feedback option. Thanks.

Hey folks,
I appreciate your feedback! It is important, and we always want you to share it with us. Though I cannot directly help to change the Google Home app, it is important for y'all to share your feedback in the app so it goes to the developers.

Why not use the same Nest interface and technology, and integrate the new cameras into the Nest App? It's a wonder to me that the much smaller Nest company has a better, more appealing and easier functioning app than a multi-billion dollar company with thousands of computer programmers - figure it out!

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I get that having to work in two separate apps is not the best experience. I hope that your experience improves!

Brad

I've decided to return my new outdoor Nest/Google camera rather than wait/hope for the complete functionality to be added in the future.

I am sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with your camera. Please feel free to share your experience in the app.

After over a year of waiting i boxed up all of my google home equipment and went to Home Depot where I purchased and explained to the manager the situation. He agreed with me that its a real issue. Such an issue that after this year the company has decided to not carry it anymore. He gave me a full refund on all the equipment. $2700 worth of Google Home Product is now out of my hair. Guess what I bought. Ring. Have not gotten the outside cameras mounted yest but the indoor cameras are great. Love that I now have the the ability to export a video clip when I want not when google wants to me too. As my nest products quit working or die off I will be replacing them with Ring as well. Google can take their crap and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I am so very disappointed that Google doesn't care and they have destroyed another product!

Oh, I'm sorry that the Google Home App and your other cams and doorbells weren't able to fulfill your needs, I hope that we can improve in the future. Thank you for sharing your feedback and concerns with us. As this issue seems to be resolved as you have returned your product, ill go ahead and lock the thread at this time.
Best regards,
Brad
