Google Nest cam WILL not hook up to my iPhone

I am getting ready to toss this expensive POS off a bridge!

 

Short story: bought a Nest Cam early this year...hooked it up. Worked perfectly. Went to the UK...worked perfectly from there.

 

Fast forward to June, and I had forgotten to charge the battery...unit went dead...charged it up... And it has NEVER responded to my phone ever since.

 

I've checked my network--EVERYTHING else works perfectly on it--I've deleted and re-DLed the app, 6-7 times, reset the cam itself, and this issue has followed me thru two phones, plus does not work on my wife's phone. tried EVERYTHING I can. and...bupkis.

 

I'm not the greatest at electronica. but this has me stumped. If I cannot find some to CLEARLY guide me thru a solution...I'll **bleep** sure never use a Google Cam again.

I can't tell exactly what has transpired with your camera up to now, but when you did the factory reset, did you hold down the reset pin for at least 12 seconds, until it responded as described in these instructions?

Was the status light flashing blue afterwards?  And did you then try to reinstall your camera in the Google Home app?

I did indeed, but I can try it again!

  • What model of Nest camera are you using? For your reference, check out this article: Technical specs for Nest cameras and doorbells.
  • What’s the color of the LED status light?
  • How far is the device from the router?
  • Can you connect to the internet with other devices?
  • Are there any other devices that experience issues with the Wi-Fi?
  • When you tried to pair the Nest camera, did you see an error code or notification?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to pair?
