How do I link the nest doorbell battery to my Google hub second generation?

When I first installed the Nest doorbell battery a couple of months ago or so, I could swear it was ringing.
But now I don’t have access to a chime, and the picture does not automatically load onto my hub video. I only get a notification on my cell phone that someone’s at the door. But no sound. Somehow it doesn’t seem right. Can anyone help?

Ideally, my Hub would start and show the camera and who is at the door, and let me know if someone’s at the door verbally or with a sound, so I could also hear it if my phone is not in my hand.

Thanks a million in advance.

Hmmmm, here the first thing to check:    Go into the Google Home app and view the live image of your doorbell.. click on the GEAR in the upper right corner and then click on VOICE NOTIFICATIONS and make sure it is turn ON.

For us, the option is named "Visitor announcements" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451).

Hi MplsCustomer,  I have looked everywhere and I don't see anything that says "Visitor Announcements".  I have included (2) screen shots so you can see what I'm seeing. the 2nd screen shot is what I see when I select 'voice notifications'.   Am I missing something?  Any ideas?

Ah, I see.  The Google Nest app calls the option "Visitor announcements". The Google Home app, I see now, calls the option "Voice notifications", even though Google Nest's own Help topic says the option is called "Visitor announcements" in both apps. We use mostly the Google Nest app for our Nest Hello Doorbells, and it never occurred to me that Google Nest's documentation was wrong. See screen shots below.

Ohhhh, okay,,, excellent.  that makes sense.  It is easy to think that 'It's me' doing something wrong but I agree this is a documentation error.
