How to hookup a doorbell cam (battery)

DropkickChris

I bought a battery doorbell cam from a frame as I'm trying to hook it up it's asking for like a QR code or some digit numbers that are supposed to be on the back they're not there how can I still hook this doorbell cam up to the app and do I have to use the Google home app or the nest app

@DropkickChris

The battery camera is installed using the Google Home app.

The QR code is printed on a sticker that's on the face of your camera when it is shipped (see about 0:55 on the video below).

The 6-character setup code is printed on the BOTTOM of your camera, as shown in the screen capture below (the font size is exaggerated).

I so maybe I wasn't explaining everything but thank you for the reply what's happening is I bought the second hand off a friend The QR code or that six-digit code is no longer printed and overs on the can doorbell cam and he does not know where the paperwork is with the QR code printed on a piece of paper or anything so is there a way around that?

@DropkickChris

I'm sorry. I somehow mistakenly misread your post and thought you had a battery CAMERA, rather than the battery DOORBELL. On the battery doorbell, the QR code is printed on the back of the doorbell (see screen shot below). The 6-character Setup Code is printed above or below QR code.

Unfortunately, you cannot install a Google Nest camera or doorbell without EITHER the QR code or the 6-character Setup Code. If both the QR code and the Setup Code have worn off or are illegible, then your doorbell is essentially worthless. For that reason, we always write down the 6-character Setup Code for our Google Nest cameras and doorbells.

If your battery doorbell is less than a year old and you are able to read the serial number on the doorbell, you could try contacting Support to see if they'll replace it:
