Last 4 digits problem in "Nest Cam Outoor" setup with Nest app

I have what seems a common problem, for which I haven't seen a solution.

In July, 2019, I purchased the "Nest Cam Outdoor," and installed it using the Nest app.

It installed OK, but the camera location was remote from wifi, and coverage was spotty.  The camera eventually fell into disuse (last photo received June, 2021).

I've now got a mesh WiFi, with a good signal at the camera location.  But the wifi network and security is different, so I need to update the WiFi settings (for which there is an option in the Nest app menu).

After entering the 6 digit code on the camera, the app asks me to enter the last 4 digits of the serial number on the camera.  But no UI is provided to enter the last 4 digits.

This is the original Outdoor Nest camera.

I am using an iPhone 15 with the latest version of the Nest app (not Google Home), and the latest iOS.

Suggestions??

Hello @Billk2p!

Thank you for reaching out to the community and sharing the details. We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing while updating your Nest Cam Outdoor to the new network.

To better assist you, please share a clear picture of your Nest Cam. Additionally, please provide the following information:

  • Is the camera receiving power?
  • What is the color of the LED status light?
  • Did you try scanning the QR code? If so, what happened?
  • Has the camera been disconnected from power in the last month?

Once we have this information, we can diagnose the issue and find a solution.

Warm regards,

Catheryn

Thanks Catheryn - the camera is at a remote site.  I'll be out there in the next ten days or so and will respond once I have the requested picture.
