Nest Cam Wont Connect

VincentB
Community Member

We got a new router so we had to reset the google home app to go through on the new WiFi and we deleted our Nest Cameras from the app. Now that we factory reset them and try to set them back up we cannot connect. It goes all the way through setup and sends me to the "something went wrong" page. I have no idea what to do now

Hi VincentB,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that but I appreciate your efforts here. No worries, we’ll sort this out. A few questions: when did the issue start? What are the status lights of your Nest cameras? What model of cameras do you have? How far are the cameras from the router? Do you have an Android or iPhone? Also, what WiFi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Close all the apps running in the background of your phone, reopen the Google Home app then try pairing it again.
Bring your phone closer to the camera within 10 to 12 inches during pairing setup.
  2. Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is on. Turn Bluetooth off, then back on to refresh the connection.
  3. Restart your router or modem, unplug it from the power outlet, wait for 1 to 2 minutes then plug it back in.
  4. If all else fails, factory reset your Nest cameras.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT
