Nest Cam with Floodlights updates stuck at 1%

I'm looking for some assistance. I purchased and installed a wired Nest outdoor camera with floodlight. I followed the directions to ensure it was installed properly and can confirm it turns on and gets power.

During installation (after I scanned the QR code), I received a notification that the camera needed to download an update (which stalls at 1%). I've tried everything from restarting the device and resetting the router to moving the router to the room closest to my camera—nothing helps. I have already done a factory reset, and yet again, the software update gets stuck at 1%.

The Nest doorbell I installed on the same account and house has no issues and is running perfectly fine.

Any and all insight is greatly appreciated, I really just want the product I purchased to work.

Hi @jackie07,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Cam with Floodlight is stuck at 1% during the update. I appreciate the information about the troubleshooting you've tried with no success. I'm happy to help.

Since you mentioned having performed a factory reset on your Nest Cam with Floodlight, please confirm if you followed the steps below that show how to properly reset your Nest Cam with Floodlight:

  1. Remove your device from the Google Home app:
    • Tap Devices, then touch and hold the device you’d like to remove.
Note: For Nest Cameras and Doorbells, find and select the 3-dot icon once a device is selected.
    • Select Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  2. Factory reset your Nest Cam with Floodlight with the reset button.
  3. Set up and connect your Nest Cam with Floodlight in the Google Home app by following the steps in the article Set up and connect Nest camera.

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Anders

I gave it a whirl and it seemed to work. But, on the Google Home app I am unable to set up the settings for the floodlight, shows up as an "Internal Error".
