Nest Camera Admin settings

Hi

this is my first post so please excuse my lack of understanding about the products and setup, but I could do with some help if possible.

We are carrying out some building work for a client over the next 12 months who has insisted on having 3 of his Google Nest cameras in place during the works. He has added it to his own home network to view with his own cameras on other other properties.
We have concerns with the privacy and audio of our staff being recorded without our control and recomended that we create an admin account and add him as a secondary user. The theory behind this being he would still have access to view but we can disable the audio without concern of the audio settings being turned back on at leisure without our consent or awareness.

The excuses of why this is not ideal we are being presented with is that by him having to delete the camera setup to switch ownership to us means:

* it won’t work on his nest login with his  other devices

*it starts a new subscription

* we would still be a joint admin  (but so would he - I imagine with settings control)

Have I understood this correctly, and are my concerns correct?

is there a way round this so we can maintain control without him having access to settings etc but so he can still be able to use it on his own nest login with his other devices?

i imagine us starting a new subscription with these cameras would still maintain his current login and subscription which would still give him full control or can 2 subscriptions not be on the same cameras?

Any advice to overcome this matter would be really appreciated as it’s becoming an issue.

thanks in advance

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but you can only have one Google Home Premium subscription on a camera.

The only way for you to take over control of your client's cameras would be for him to remove them from his Google Nest app or Google Home app (which terminates his subscription and its history), factory reset them, and then have you install them on your Google Nest app or Google Home app under a new subscription, with you as "Admin" and your client as a "Member" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9155535. Then, when you are done with your work, you would've to remove the cameras from your Google Nest app or Google Home app, factory reset them, and then have your client reinstall them on his Google Nest app or Google Home app under a new subscription.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
if our client is then added as ‘Member’ is he able to add the cameras to his log in/Ap that he uses for his home cameras to view them hassle free or would he need separate log ins and profiles etc

it suggests that it’s very striaght forward and feel there maybe an underlying motive to retain the admin function.

@Scarface1121

I believe you could "invite" your client to be a "Member" of the Google Nest "home/structure" you would set up, sending the invite to his Google (gmail) Account, and he would them be able to see your new "home/structure" in his Google Nest app or Google Home app, logging on with his gmail account.

But you would still have to go through the steps I described of transferring the cameras from your client to you, and then back to your client at the end.

To manage this as you would like, you would have to be aware of the settings described in the link I provided above.

Thank you again.

That sounds like it’s the answer to the problem.

I appreciate your help, thank you.
