Nest Camera not linking to nest app

AndrewCG
Community Member

Hello to whoever can help!

I recently installed a new nest camera through the instructions provided which linked the camera to my google home. When accessing my google home app I can see the feed but I cannot see the feed when accessing my nest home app.

It would seem the camera does not exist in the nest app - home.nest.com

Help please 🙂

@AndrewCG

Google Nest's newer 2nd gen cameras and doorbells (released starting in Sept. 2021) get installed ONLY in the Google Home app and cannot be accessed in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website even though they are Google Nest cameras. Since Oct. 2022 their livestream (and nothing else) can be viewed on the beta "Public Preview" home.google.com website.

You are not alone in discovering this. We found out when we bought a battery camera in Sept. 2021, and have been using 2 apps ever since.

Hey folks,

@AndrewCG, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. The new Nest Cameras and Nest Doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. In case you have additional questions or concerns, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson
