Nest Floodlight Camera will NOT connect.

Have had two outdoor floodlight cameras for a few months.  Both worked great until last week.  Will not connect to the home app or or online.  Yes Brad I reset them both, no joy.  I read a lot of problems with these cameras, but no solutions.  All my indoor camera work with the app.  Both Floodlight cams say device offline.

Hi Yikesadoodie,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing with us what you've done. To know more about this, I'd like to ask some questions: are you getting any error messages? How far is the camera from the router? Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?

Give these steps a try:

  • Restart your Nest Camera.
    • Locate the reset pinhole on the back of your Nest Doorbell.
    • Tip: The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of your Nest Doorbell.
    • Press and hold for 5 seconds.
    • Your Nest Doorbell will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.
  • If you're still getting the same issue, you may try resetting it to the factory default. Remember that after the reset, all of your recorded events will get removed as well.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Emerson

Not a doorbell.  Two floodlight cameras will not connect to Home.  Cameras record event in notifications, but will not come on in Google Home app or Web app.

Hey there,

I’m sorry you’re still having trouble accessing your camera live feed. Let’s further check this — a few questions: what are the status lights of the cameras? How far are the cameras from the router? Were there any changes to your Wi-Fi network? Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the cameras? Also, are the cameras paired to a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHZ Wi-Fi network?

I appreciate the help here, Emerson and Archie.

Thanks,

JT

Status lights are green.  I got out a ladder and reset the cameras…no live feed.  Notification of events still works.  Camera tab shows my all other working cameras but only the floodlights are offline.  Google has a notification that some older generation cameras would not work yet with the Home app.  These two floodlight cameras were bought in the last few months, they worked great until recently when both went offline.  Timing  of the app update is curious
