Nest Outdoor Cam (2019) records rustling sound

We are hearing a rustling sound when looking at our outdoor cam from iOS devices, although there is no such sound.  Sounds like water is running somewhere, so we had to get the neighbors check out our yard when we were gone.  So this is very annoying.

Does the camera need to be replaced?  It also has intermittent WiFi connectivity issues although WiFi strength from the Nest Wifi router is strong.

If your camera is installed near a water pipe or gutter, that could be what it is recording. Not sure what to tell you about this sound. Best to try and look at your settings, limit the sensitivity on sound, or give it a good restart or factory reset and try again.
