Hi,
I have a nest outdoor cam.
It is on firmware 223-610050.
Is this the current version? It seems to have been on this version for a few years, so I guess no more updates?
Just asking as I'm seeing some connection unreliability whereby the camera has a tendency to connect/disconnect every 2s for sustained periods even though it's able to get to decent wifi data rate (up to 57 Mbps)

it would appear (from a trace) as if the nest cam is sending out frequent probes (~1.5s), and quite often trying to disassociate/reassociate even though there's only one AP with the configured SSID. The signal level seems to be ~ -72 dBm which is on the low side, and may explain it's 'panic' looking around for other APs - but to constantly disassociate/reassociate seems odd (but I'm not an expert!)

That's the same firmware version we have on our Google Nest Outdoor Cameras; they all stay online almost always. A signal strength of "-72 dBm" seems on the low side, but I'm not an expert either. For our cameras the are farther away, we added a directional high-gain antenna on our Linksys router to increase the signal strength.

Thanks. Yes, agreed. I suspect the cause is the signal level. The router is on adjacent wall but offset by ~5-6m, but we're in a modern well-insulated house which seems to block radio too! (though the camera is particularly poor compared to car/phones in similar place). That was governed by an ethernet port for a AP
I'll move the AP very close, diff room. prob need to use wireless backhaul but it's really all just for this camera+car so not used for other things! I've compared with other APs in the past, seems no magic there, outside AP maybe...

We have 2 Linksys routers we use as wired access points in addition to our Xfinity router/modem. The fact that they are wired seems to help; our cameras, doorbells, and Hubs are consistently online.
