Nest Wired Doorbell buzzing

Hi there,

I have had nothing but problems with my wired Nest Doorbell. I initially installed it and couldn’t get the indoor chime to work unless I removed the white resistor puck. However, in doing this, the doorbell would buzz constantly inside the house at random times. I contacted customer support and they sent a new doorbell. Again, same thing happened and all that customer support offered was a replacement device. I’ve had this doorbell installed professionally twice now with an electrician. At this point, the only way I can stop the buzzing is to use the white puck however the doorbell doesn’t work. My electrician switched out the indoor chime box but still same issue. Help!!! At this point I’m about $2000 in with this doorbell and it doesn’t even work!

Some customers in this forum have reported defective chime pucks for their 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbells. When you had your replacement doorbell installed, did you also have a new chime puck installed?

Some customers in this forum--including us--have reported having to upgrade to a 16V 30VA transformer to get their Google Nest doorbells to work, even though that's more than the minimum Google Nest says is necessary: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132
