Nest doorbell connectivity

We got new IPhone 16s and cannot get both to work with our Nest battery doorbell and the Google Home app. My husband’s worked when we transferred our data to our new phones, but mine did not. I reset everything and got the doorbell working on my phone, but now my husband’s says offline. How can we get both to connect to the doorbell?

Hi GailT,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you are navigating some connectivity challenges with your Nest Doorbell (battery) on your new iPhone 16 devices. It appears that after a data transfer on your husband's phone and a manual reset on yours, his device is still appearing offline while yours is functioning. I truly appreciate the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken, and I’m happy to help you get both devices synced properly.

To provide the best assistance, please answer the following questions:

  • How far is the doorbell from your router?
  • Do you have other Nest devices in your home?
  • Are there any appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your doorbell?
  • Which Wi-Fi frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) are you attempting to use for the connection?
  • Are the iOS versions and the Google Home app fully up to date on both phones?
  • Have permissions and location services been enabled for the Google Home app on both devices?

Please keep me posted on your findings.

Regards,

Byron
