Nest floodlight from good to terrible

I have had this nest floodlight for just over a year and it has worked great. Last week the floodlights stopped working but the camera was still active. The battery indicator has slowly drained over the last week. I researched and decided to do a factory reset to see if this solved the problem. I removed it from the app, took it off and held the reset button as instructed. Now it has no lights and wont connect to the app. It appears to be dead. It was working before I removed it from the app, the camera at least, now its doing nothing. Any ideas?

Hi ,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand your Nest Cam with Floodlight isn't connecting to the Google Home app because it isn't showing any light after doing a factory reset. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts. No worries, I'd be more than glad to assist you.

Let's follow these steps:

  • Please disconnect your Floodlight from its power source. Unplug it or switch the power off at the circuit breaker.
  • Clean the Pogo connector by using a clean, dry cotton swab to wipe off any dirt buildup on the pogo connectors and the socket between the floodlight and camera.
  • Wait for at least 20 seconds (up to a minute), and then reconnect power to the floodlight. Your Nest Cam with Floodlight should light up for approximately 30 seconds to confirm it's operational.

Please note: The Nest Camera receives power from the floodlight via the Pogo connector so that the camera's battery is only used during a power outage.

Please keep me updated on how it goes after trying these steps.

Cheers,
Jonathan
