Hi just purchased the best cam outdoor battery. I'm aware you don't get a live feed. However, we bought this to replace a 1st generation indoor we have point out the window. The big problem is the 1st gen picks up all activity, people cars etc. However the new nest cam outdoor battery misses everything!! I walk past the camera and it doesn't come out of idle. The only time it picks stuff up is if I'm in live mode. This means it's completely not fit for purpose if it is missing everything the 1st gen is picking up.
I would appreciate any advice. I've tried repairing etc. The connection is fine as I can access live anytime I want. The problem is it's Not coming out of idle mode despite any motion. Please help!

No help at all. Just people replying to get a better status on their personal account. Can anyone actually offer an answer or solution to my question?

Perhaps, by marking my reply last week as "a Best Answer", and then saying "we hope you've got the answer you're looking for", Google Nest is acknowledging (incredibly!) that, when running on battery power, the Google Nest Camera (Battery) is frequently unable to come out of "Idle" mode to detect and record events.
I think the only solution is to plug in the battery camera and operate it as a wired camera. Apparently, Google Nest thinks the same thing.
And, as a footnote, in cold climates like ours in Minnesota, it is definitely the only way to keep the camera operating at all.
