New nest camera battery not lasting long

I have recently acquired a second Nest Camera Battery that I have installed indoor. The first one I have is installed in the garage and the charge last very long. The new one doesn't last more than a week despite being indoor. Is there something wrong? Please help me since it's quite frustrating to have to recharge it every week.

 

I have set up automatic settings that disable camera when I am home.

  • What is the typical level of activity detected by the indoor camera? Is it located in a high-traffic area?

  • What specific activity zones have you set up for the indoor camera?

  • Are the settings on your garage camera identical to the settings on your indoor camera?

  • Have you tried swapping the locations of the two cameras to see if the battery drain issue persists in the new location, or if it stays with the camera itself?

  • How long did you charge the indoor camera before noticing the battery drain?

  • Approximately how many events does the camera record per day?

  • Are you using the original charging cable that came with the Nest Cam?

  • Can you confirm the exact model of the Nest Cam Battery that you recently acquired?

Hi,

 

I think the issue is because the camera is located in my living room facing a door. And I pass in front often. I see it turning green everytime I pass in front. How can I program that when I am home I don't need any recording, and only to record when I am leaving home? I don't need it on when I am home.
