No event record when idle - battery only

Can I request update if this widely reported problem has a Fix besides plugging camera into mains power - camera  promoted  at time of sale as events will be recorded on battery power - however unless have open camera app and view - will not record events as in IDLE When on battery only ..

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Do you have an active Nest Aware subscription? Could you check if the notification settings you preferred are on? Follow the steps below and let us know how it goes.
 

• Open the Google Home app.
• Tap Settings.
• Select Notifications.
• Choose the item you want to change > tap the Toggle to turn the notification on or off.
