No notifications whatsoever

After working well for a couple or three years, my Nest (wired) doorbell cam is no longer sending notifications of any kind. Tried every intuitive fix I could think of. Rebooted iPhone, rebooted Wifi, rebooted camera - no change. Camera can be viewed from its original Nest app as well as Google Home app. Notification settings only available from Nest app. Screenshot below. Please help. Very frustrated at this point.

About a year ago, we stopped receiving notifications for our Nest Hello doorbells on one of our iPhones. Deleting and reinstalling the Google Nest app on that iPhone fixed the problem. None of your settings are lost when you do so.

My situation is very similar to what you were experiencing. Notifications work fine on one of two identical iPhones, but absolutely nothing on the other. Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work for me. Good idea though.

About a year ago, we stopped receiving notifications for our Nest Hello doorbells on one of our iPhones. Deleting and reinstalling the Google Nest app on that iPhone fixed the problem. None of your settings are lost when you do so.

Hey there,


Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Thanks for reaching out to me Brad. As I originally stated, I restarted all the connected devices without success. However several hours after deleting and reinstalling the Nest app as recommended by Mpls Customer above, the notifications started working once more. Can't explain why it took a few hours, but I think that recommendation has resolved the problem
