Not being able to turn off notifications if Nest camera detects familiar face is incredibly frustrating. Only bought the cameras today but considering returning them for a refund simply because of the frustration this will cause.
Surely google needs to either add this feature or explain why they can’t.
@Brad previously said the feature would be suggested however there are numerous threads across the internet complaining but no action

Yup. I don't really to be notified when I am walking into my own living room. An option to ignore notification if familiar face would be welcomed. I leave it on because I had a routine of turning it off when walking downstairs but forget to turn back on afterwards.

I, you, we have asked for this for ages. Google does not read any feedback users send, nor do they even look at this site. Moderators try to help but they follow very strict rules. The product is wonderful, users complain too much and will lock almost every thread as their word is final and the only solution. Sad but users who invested in the original nest products are blatantly disregarded.
There is no road map for nest after 2 years. Just two apps and one being absolutely useless.

Don't get me wrong the motion AI capturing is spot on great. The resolution/quality has not really leaped vs price, but let down by it's combined all in one software to cover all products Google Home.
Simply by creating a blog post to state bullet points of acknowledgement to avoid repetition on forums is a welcomed communication to least acknowledge the problems, even if they cannot be resolved any time soon "We are working and known issues etc"
- Samsung and Android 12 combination is a definite problem when researching on internet for Google Home
- Blank thumbnails in event history
- Event notification cool down is currently X mins, we'll give you option to change this to 0 or more
- 2022 promised for web browser support. OK great, that's good news.
- Local recording if not then perhaps from web browser or desktop app to a network share
- Legacy Nest cams over to Google Home with simplified transfer of subscriptions
- Option to skip notifications if familiar face detected. Means never have to turn camera off/event off when at home. No need for Home/Away routine.
- Ability to see wifi connection quality of each camera to judge if good placement
- Ability to change to different wifi SSID and password without having to factory reset.
- Internal web interface to set static IP and view the camera on LAN even through web browser. So no bandwidth overhead on Google or ISP.
No one expects Google to fix things overnight but it only takes a team a day to collect unique and more pressing issues into a blog post to give reassurance of say the last year of topics in the forum.
The reality is - The amount of time and effort used to moderate the forums, it would probably less time to:
Acknowledgement, Communication and Expectations. Then forum won't be littered with same day to day posts. More productive and efficient.

Google needs to read and acknowledge paying user’s frustrations. Yet they continually ignore us, lock threads, post useless empty blogs,… nothing since the acquisition only empty hype, tiktok? They wanted that not users. Don’t bother filling out feedback, Google gave up on nest. Look at the App Store updates, empty updates, just oo we made it better.

Hey there,
Thanks for your patience! Even though this isn't a feature at this time, we’re always looking for ways to improve, and appreciate your feedback. You can send it at any time using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps found here.
Best regards,
Brad

Ok prove it. Been two years and Nest users are disillusioned. Yet here we are on the verge of new Google labeled Cr*p about to be rolled out in Oct. let’s see New and Improved relabeled chromecast is now nestcast. Brad please before you reply with standard prebaked responses, think of it from the other side. Zero proof has been shown by google they have any plans to fix the nest acquisition/integration mess.
