It says in offline after I’ve successfully connected to the wifi, and haven’t. The screen that says disconnect from the power source and walk outside and your camera will connect to the wifi. But it doesn’t. It reads offline. Even when I wait 10 minutes. Please help

Here is what it says exactly:

Unplug your doorbell and bring it outside to check the live video.

in the top left corner of the video it says offline in yellow no matter how long I wait after unplugging it

First, ensure that the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi signal, as a weak signal can cause the connection to drop. If your camera is far from your router, consider moving it closer or adding a Wi-Fi extender to boost the signal.

Next, try restarting your router by unplugging it for about 2 minutes and then plugging it back in. After that, restart the camera by disconnecting and reconnecting it to the power source. Wait for the camera to fully reboot before attempting the setup again. Make sure you're connecting to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band, as many smart devices have trouble connecting to the 5 GHz band.

If you continue to see the "offline" message even after waiting 10 minutes, try resetting the camera to factory settings. Hold the reset button on the camera for 10-20 seconds until you see an indicator light change, then go through the setup process again. If the issue persists, it could be worth checking if there are any interference issues in the area or if the camera is having trouble with your specific Wi-Fi network settings.

Hi @MrsStefanek,

Thank you for your timely post and the comprehensive information you've provided. I understand that you are encountering some offline issues when you already successfully set up your Nest Doorbell (battery). I'm here to help you and work together to find a solution. @mavmit, I really appreciate the steps and the assistance you offered in your previous

To help you further, try the following steps:

  • Make sure you proceed with the appropriate factory reset on your Nest Doorbell (battery), so please check this article and see how to perform the factory data reset. I also recommend charging your Nest Doorbell (battery) while you are doing the factory data reset: Nest Doorbell (battery).
  • Once you hear the second sound, you need to set up your device on the Google Home app, so please see this article for instructions on how to set up your Nest Doorbell (battery): Set up and connect the Nest camera.

Please let me know how it goes.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.
