Outdoor NestCam (battery)

Just got the outdoor nest cam...works fine with google home app on the phone.

Why does it not work with the Nest App?

Why can't i view it on my PC?

When is this going to be fixed?

Who layed out this hodge podge design...this is terrible? I would expect something like this in the 1980's!!!

How can I view this on a pc if possible?

The battery life of wireless cameras is a drawback, however the Nest Cam Battery lasts a long time before needing to be recharged. Depending on the degree of activity, you may anticipate your battery to last somewhere between 1.5 and 7 months.

I just did the same and am furious as well.  Not only do the new cameras not work in the nest app, but the old nest doorbell doesn’t give alerts if a visitor or doorbell ring happens in the Google home app.    Not to mention the Google home App sucks compared to the nest app.  Google is migrating everything over to Google Home app moving forward, so you can say goodbye to any thought that eventually it will be supported in the nest app.

On the bright side, apparently there is a major update to to Google home app to make it way better and have it support nest users much better.   Chatter is that this will be released October 6th 2022 at their conference.   I’m willing to wait to see what happens.  In the meantime, I use both apps.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://goo.gle/3A7x7ug web app.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best regards,

Brad
