Power supply for doorbell

Seano7

I have my battery doorbell up and running, but the battery life i much shorter than I had expected it to be.
My house is brand new, so I don’t have an existing doorbell system that I can use to wire it up to, but can I buy a seperate power supply and connect that straight to the doorbell to give it wired power? I just don’t want to hook it up to anything and over load or fry it.
thanks for any assistance

Thank you for that. Any idea if there’s a comparable power adaptor available in Australia though?

I'm just a U.S. customer and do not know.

It'll be needing low voltage AC power,

I'm using my old Amazon Ring AC adapter.
But you can probably get something from Jaycar or similar - If unsure ask them at the store for compatibility based on the matrix in the table in the above link.

Thanks mate. Yeah I went to jaycar and picked up that 16V AC power supply yesterday, hooked it up last night and it works a treat
