REALLY? Floodlight cam won't work with Nest APP?

Here's a thought, how about adding a disclaimer to this "product" stating it will NOT work with the Nest APP! Kind of crappy if you ask me. So will turn out to be another waste of money like the Nest Secure? I mean what's the purpose of the "Nest" family of products if they won't work in YOUR APP!!! Seems every time I buy another piece of "equipment"  (trying not to state what I really want to say) I regret it almost immediately. So instead of buying a much cheaper cam that would most likely integrate with the Home APP, now i have to monitor 2 different APPs. To the developers I just want to wish you a bad case of diarrhea, in a traffic jam, on the highway, in the middle of summer. Thank you very much, pissed off customer!

@gmart

We discovered the same thing when we bought a battery camera 2-1/2 years ago, and have been using 2 apps ever since, and the 2nd gen cameras STILL lack many Nest app functions (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features).

They are all still in the process of being brought over to the google home app, there is currently technical limitations for the software to work on the home app and getting the google home to incorporate the same features as the nest app did. @MplsCustomer  did make a good comment here. It's in the pipeline but will take longer than usual. Again, do keep up to date on updates.

Great, but not the issue. the flood light cam is called "NEST" Floodlight cam not a Google Home  Floodlight cam. I have 6 smoke detectors, 6 temp sensors, the thermostat, doorbell cam, outdoor cam gen1 i guess, a indoor cam, and 3 of those displays. all the other stuff worked just fine under the NEST APP. now, because of the stupid floodlight cam, I get 2 different APPs notifying me when a car drives by my house. Just saying this is VERY annoying!

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, you are finding out what many of us customers have also discovered.  The new Google Nest cameras released starting in 2021 work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website.

You can see Google's justification for this 2-app solution--along with customer reactions--on this blog in this forum:

If you have another question, i'll be here to help you.

Also if you want to leave your feedback about these changes you can let us know by using the following form and leave your feedback.

Best,

Brandon.
