Reset and reconnect doorbell

Franck1

Hi there !

I’ve reset my wifi network and managed to reconnect all my devices with the exception of the doorbell.
My Google home it keeps saying that something went wrong and I need to reset the device. I did this a few times but nothing changes.
Can you please help further?

Thank you !

Franck

I’m having the same problem.  About to take my  $1k+ worth of google devices back to the store and get something different.  Just sux that I’ve already drilled holes.

I’ve tried reconnecting, rebooting, restarting WiFi, uninstalling and reloading, etc.  nothing works and this has been ongoing for over a week.

So, after researching and trying everything I could find/think of to fix on my own, I called customer service at google for help.  They were nice but only recommended what I could find on the internet.  2 hours and 36 minutes later, they ended the call with “we’ll just have support call you back”.  Still waiting on that call…I have a battery doorbell, two outdoor battery cameras, 2 speakers, and a thermostat.  Really don’t want to go through the hassle of taking them all back.  But if I just wanted a non-operational thief “deterrent” then I would recommend something much cheaper with regards to the cameras.  Speakers are still working nicely but I’m reluctant to install the thermostat based on the camera experience.  This has been ongoing for weeks btw.  Everything else (non-google) that is connected to my internet is working fine.

So, it seemed to work after these steps.  Factory reset the camera, restart the app, make sure your internet connection on your connecting device is 2G (not 5G), reboot modem and router, repeat the connection steps with barcode (repeat again if it doesn’t connect using the connection code on the device which is 6 digits).

Had the same issue. Was able to reset it in order to reconnect it through google home via poking the pin hole on the back for 12 second.

That will get it back to blinking blue after a full reset

  1. nsert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack):
    • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
    • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the doorbell starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  2. Release the button. Your doorbell will restore to its factory settings.

Hey there,

Thanks for bringing this up to me, I'd love to take a look into this for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This might be helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad
