Stuck locking pin google nest doorbell (battery)

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to unstick the locking pin in order to mount my Google nest doorbell to the metal plate mount?

I removed the doorbell and brought inside to recharge. This was the first and only time I had to remove the doorbell from the mount to recharge. It has lasted over a year since installation. And now it will not mount to the plate.

As usual, the warranty on my doorbell has now expired.

I can imagine it has been an inconvenience, and I would love to look into this further for you. Have you tried to use a pin or needle to loosen it? Does it look jammed, and stuck, or is it missing?
