This is the worse help site I have ever encountered. I simply cannot get help installing a doorbell.

Thank you. A Google rep called me and resolved the issue.

This is the Google Nest Community, where you can post your issue and get replies and suggestions mostly from other customers, of which I am just one (and occasionally from Google Nest Support).

You are right, I should not have posted my frustration on this site. I apologize. I could not find a way to delete it.

I apologize for this post. I have spent hours trying to connect two brand new devices and tried everything I could find. Reset my router, shut off the extender, restarted my phone, and reset the door bells. I am super frustrated. Especially when I see this is a regular issue with others.

No problem.  I wasn't upset; just clarifying that you probably won't get Google Nest Support answers here.

We've been fortunate to have had very few problems installing our devices.  There is a long thread on "assisting device" problems, with many customer suggestions, and some of them have worked for some customers:  https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/quot-Can-t-connect-to-assisting-device-...

These "assisting device" problems, as best as I can tell, seem to be due to conflicting versions of software on different devices.  Google Support has commented that they're working on it, but so far I haven't seen a definitive solution or a definitive workaround anywhere.
