Hi! I'm wondering.
I have five cameras (three are 1st generation, and two are 2nd generation). I can already see all five in the Google home app on my cell phone and the home.google.com in my computer's browser. I can also see my three first generation cameras in the Nest app on my cell phone and in the computer browser application home.nest.com.
When opening the Nest app on my cell phone, I get a message offering to transfer my Nest cam to Google home. Should I just ignore this message as I can already see them in the Google home app? I would not want to lose the superior functionalities of the Nest app and computer browser solution, by 'transfering' them to the Google app.

The option to transfer certain 1st generation Google Nest cameras from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app is now available only to customers using the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app:
We are not using the "Public Preview" version so we don't get that message, but even if we were using that version, we would not transfer our 1st gen cameras to the Google Home app because there are still so many Nest app functions that are lacking the Google Home app:

This list does NOT mention that the home.google.com website still does not provide the same access to history and administration that the home.nest.com website provides.
I don't know if Google Nest is going to address these deficiencies.
