I have two of the "updated" nest cameras that only show up under Google home. However the Google Home screen only show the live video. There is not "history" to choose along the bottom of the screen. what gives? How can I access my video history? My old Nest cameras show up under the Nest app and I can access video history there no problem.

I thought you were talking about the Google Home app, which is the only place where we can view history for the newer Google Nest cameras. The beta/preview website, home.google.com, does not show history; it only livestreams, unlike the older home.nest.com website for the older Google Nest cameras, which has history and configuration options.

On an iPhone, when you're viewing the camera feed, the options at the bottom of the screen appear and disappear each time you tap the screen:

Indeed it's not. On Sept. 29, 2021, Google Nest VP Rishi Chandra posted this:
"...we’ve also been working on rolling out a desktop experience for the Google Home app, so the new Nest cameras and doorbell feeds can be viewed and controlled from there. This will launch in 2022."
The beta/preview home.google.com website with live-streaming only is all they've managed so far. We've been waiting for more since we bought a new battery camera in Sept. 2021.
