Why is my battery dead on a wired camera with floodlight

Welcome to the club. No support from Google. My last day to return mine is 2 weeks away, I’m going to wait it out. I’ve already spent several hours troubleshooting with no luck.

Same boat. I'm on my 2nd device (RMA).  Question -- when you started to experience the battery issue did you guys also lose the floodlight controls in the Home app? 

Sure did.

After several weeks offline, mine came back online Mid-December in the middle of the night and worked flawlessly ever since.   Software version didn't change, and no wifi changes so I have no explanation as to what happened.  I woke up one morning and it had history going to back to around 3am.
