Wired Outdoor CAM not able to reconnect to NEST

FRAARB77
Community Member

It was working perfectly fine before I've made some unvoluntary change to my wifi.

*The outdoor camera can only work on the 2.4 GHz as all the other devices (Nest itself & indoor CAM) work on the 5 GHz.

Now all devices are working as they are reconnect the my 5GHz network except my outdoor CAM (2.4 GHz) even if the light is solid green ??? Why ?

This is so frustrating. How can I correct the situation in a simple matter

I've deleted the device from my NEST and try to add it with the QR code. Not able to finish the set-up !

Please help

Thanks in advance

Hi FRAARB77,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing with us what you've done. When re-adding your Nest Camera, it's much better if you would reset it to the factory default. Remember that after the reset, all of your recorded events will get removed as well.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Locate the reset hole on the bottom of the camera head. It’s between the power cord and the camera neck.
  2. Insert a paperclip, thumbtack or similar into the hole. Press and hold down.
  • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be solid yellow. When the camera begins resetting, you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  1. Release the button. Your camera will restore to its factory settings.

After the reset, you may go ahead and add it back to your Nest app.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Emerson
