@Ddoyle

Sadly, it looks like you are yet another customer who has discovered--as we did when we bought our Google Nest Camera (Battery) a year ago--that Google Nest's newer cameras and doorbells (released starting in the fall of 2021) work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website.  Conversely, while live feed and some event history for our older cameras and doorbells can be viewed in the Google Home app, but full history, administration, and notifications are still handled ONLY in the Google Nest app (and on the home.nest.com website).

A year ago, Google Nest's Vice President posted this explanation for this 2-app approach: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Message-from-our-GM-Updates-for-our-Nest-customers/ba-p/.... There has been no update whatsoever since then, even though he said "we commit to being more transparent with you on where we are taking the camera portfolio". As a result, a year later we are still using 2 apps for our Google Nest cameras and doorbells, and our newer camera is still lacking the capabilities of our older cameras.
