wireless doorbell not ringing

I have a wireless/battery doorbell.  I purchased little Google speakers so that when someone pressed the doorbell it would sound a digital ding-dong through the digital speakers. It worked for the first 2-3 years we've had it.  And it just stopped working recently:  when the button is pushed, the ding-dong can be heard outside, but nothing comes through to the speakers inside so we don't know someone is at the door. I have gone on the app to try to change the settings, but it says that there can be no digital chime when a doorbell is not wired.  However, that can't be because it has been working for us for YEARS.

Please help.

Thank you,

Brian

The "Indoor chime" option applies only to ringing an indoor doorbell chime, and is automatically disabled if your battery doorbell is not wired and connected to a transformer and to an indoor doorbell chime. Sending "visitor announcements" to your Nest Hubs and Nest Minis is controlled by the "Visitor announcements" option (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451). I don't know why that option should suddenly quit working.

You could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
