Bluetooth audio crashes other devices and will not connect

With the the Chromecast (GZRNL), attempting to pair or reconnect any bluetooth audio device (receiver, headphones, etc.), causes that device to crash and restart (emitting a terrible noise in the process in the case of the headphones). Factory resetting the devices and Chromecast has no effect.

Hi ncolella,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. What's the make and model of your Bluetooth audio device? What type of Chromecast with Google TV do you have, is it the 4K or HD model? If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with the Chromecast with Google TV, disconnect them. Also, unplug your TV for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. Once the TV is on, try pairing it again.

Regards,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I have tried pairing with a 1Mii audio receiver, as well as Creative Outlier Air earbuds. In both occurrences, the issue persists. Additionally, pairing my phone or computer with either audio receiver works normally, as expected. The Chromecast is the 4K model (GZRNL). I have completely depowered and factory reset both the bluetooth receiver and Chromecast to no avail (as well as depowering the TV).

Hello ncolella,

Thanks for getting back to us. Have you tried reaching out to the Bluetooth audio receiver manufacturer to check the compatibility of the devices? If you haven't yet, please try that and keep me posted.

Best,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Yes, both the audio receiver and headphones are compatible.

Hi Jennifer,

The issue persists.

Thank you for helping out on this thread, Jennifer!

Hey there ncolella,

That's no good to hear. You may want to speak with Chromecast Support regarding this, as perhaps there are deeper issues. If you don't mind, would you be able to fill out this form to have Chromecast Support reach out to you via e-mail? Just let me know when you do so.

Best regards,
Jeran
