Unable to connect to internet despite rebooting all and resetting chrome cast. We are in a rental unit with an open Wi-Fi that you must login to. This happened with a previous chrome cast in a hotel

Which Chromecast device do you use?
Only the Google TV HD and 4K can log in to WiFi with captive portals and Hotel WiFi networks.
So if you have an older device, I am afraid you are out of luck. 🙄

Heff, authentication pages, also known as captive portals are currently not supported by Chromecast. You can attempt to set up your Chromecast device using a captive portal if you are able to add the MAC address directly to the router. In most cases, you will need permission from the network administrator. However, please take note that this workaround may or may not work.
