Casting TV freezes for 5-20 seconds regularly

We’re casting tv and when frozen speed test is fone: 49/9?

Hello Larkamr,

 

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? When did the issue start? If you're casting from mobile, is the OS updated?

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Disconnect from Chromecast, then recast.
  2. On the casting device, toggle Wi-Fi off and then on.
  3. Close any resource intensive apps that are open.
  4. Check if their device or laptop has a power saving setting. If it's enabled, disable it.
  5. Check the proximity of the devices. Ideally, they should be less than 15 to 20 feet (4 to 6 meters) apart from each other, with one or zero walls in between.
  6. Make sure that the Google Chrome browser, device OS, and Chromecast software are updated.
  7. Reboot the Chromecast device.
  8. Reboot the Wi-Fi router.
  9. Perform a factory reset.
