Chromecast 4.0 can't connect to wifi WPA2/WPA3 mixed v2

Hi, after 1.5 years the problem is the same as I wrote here. From the previous thread, I got an update to Chromecast a few months ago and yesterday I verified that the connection works on WPA2/WPA3 mixed. Unfortunately not.

@Jeran do you have news? Why was the previous thread closed?

Hiya olekstomek,

WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode isn't exactly the same as a traditional WPA2 Wi-Fi network, and it may cause some connectivity issues with the Chromecast. If you are able to test it, go ahead and deactivate mixed mode on your router, and let me know if the Chromecast is able to properly connect to the WPA2 network.

I look forward to your response!

Best regards,

Jeran

Hey there olekstomek,

I talked again with the engineering team about this, and it is true that currently the Chromecast with Google TV only supports WPA2, you can check out the technical specifications here under "Wireless security". I'm sorry there hasn't been any developments on this, so I'd encourage you to submit feedback via the Google TV app to let Google know you'd like to see this functionality.

I look forward to your response, and if you had any other questions, please let me know.

Best regards,

Jeran

OK, but I use WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode. So in this case the Chromecast cannot handle WPA2 even though it supports it according to the technical specification.

Yes, it works with WPA2 fine.

Hiya olekstomek,

I'm glad to hear that! I know WPA2/WPA3 mixed is something I've seen a few people want support for in the past. If this is something you'd like to see as well, I'd encourage you to submit feedback to let Google know. The more feedback they receive regarding a particular feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it. In the meantime, did you have any other questions or concerns?

Best regards,

Jeran
