Chromecast Apple TV and headphones

Hi,  I use headphones with the chromecast which works great except for Apple TV app. I’m sure it’s a DMR issue as this app is known for them on android. Has anyone got headphones to work ?

Hey there Lintel,

I'm sorry to hear that Apple TV and your headphones aren't playing nicely. I'd be happy to help you out where I can, since this can be tricky to troubleshoot. The first thing I would do is disconnect and reconnect the headphones. Then, if that didn't fix it, I would clear out the cached app data on the Apple TV app. Finally, if the problem is only occurring in the Apple TV app, I would reach out to Apple Support to see if they are aware of any issues regarding this.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

Hi thanks for your help. It’s only an Apple thing, and I’m sure it’s a drm issue. I get similar issues on another android TV running the app passing sound to my amplifier. But getting help from Apple is near impossible

I had the same problem with Bluetooth headphones while using Apple TV app in v10 there’s a workaround (no thanks to both Google device support and Apple TV+ app support)which is not ideal but after updating it to v12 I’m not facing the problem. So try updating your device to v12 if not already done.

Hi I assume you mean V12 of the Apple app. Mine is V13.0.0.14a. Android V10 .

I’ll just have to wait till it’s resolved and avoid Apple show using headphones. Netflix, Amazon, Disney works so it’s not so bad

Hey there Lintel,

Just to double-check, is your Chromecast up-to-date on its updates? It's a possibility Rags's issue was resolved when they updated their Chromecast with Google TV to Android 12.

Best regards,

Jeran
