I have 4 chromecasts in my house. 2 of them are chromecast with google TV. 2 are 3rd generation. They are all wired. However one of the chromecasta with Google TV continuously loses ethernet connection. I speed test when it does but always have a gig or close to it. None of tbe other chromecasts lose internet. If when it happens I'll check my phone, my kids tvs and my bedroom TV and nothing else losses internet. I have switched ports on the switch. I have switched ethernet cables. Nothing works for more than a few days. This particular chromecast also won't connect to wifi. It sees the network but when I put the password in it says "can't fine network". It also stops the putting out volume randomly. It's only 3 years old. I assume it's failing but that's to quick. My 3rd gens are 5 years old. Any ideas? It's the only device in the whole house losing internet

Hi Oohwordd,
Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — I appreciate it! To cover all the bases, could you please reboot your Chromecast with Google TV 4K? Also, plug it into a different TV screen and observe the behavior.
If the issue persists, perform a factory reset on your device. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

Jennifer

I disconnected the ethernet adapter and plugged it into a 2nd chromcsst with google tv. Suddenly that chromecast had connectivity issues as well. Obviously the adapter is no longer working. What's worse is that the original chromecast won't connect to wifi any longer after the reset meaning the adapter somehow ruined tbe chromecast. So I replaced it with a apple tv 4k. I can't tell you how much better this device is. The sound through the soundbar is louder and clearer. The picture is just amazing. I still have 3 chromcsst 2nd generation that are cast only connected to 3rd party ethernet adapters in my kids rooms and on a tv outside that work amazing. They never lag. Never have connection issues. Never buffer. That was a great product. This new one isn't good. It lags. The remote sometimes takes 10 to 15 seconds to respond. Buffers during lice tv. It's not the product I've come to expect from google. And I have made the switch to Apple tv 4k. It's much better. As my chromecasta die ill replace them all with apple. Well worth the money. It looks, sounds, plays and responds significantly better.
