Chromecast seems stuck

Cassidy861

I've just moved into a new flat and setting up my chromecast I had at my last place. When trying to set it up it says it can't connect to the wifi because it was originally set up by someone else (it wasnt) so I need to factory reset it. But I can't go into the devices settings to factory reset it when it's not connected as a device to my google home app. I'm very lost on what to do, help 😔

Hi Cassidy861,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear about that. Your Chromecast can only remember one Wi-Fi network at a time. If you changed your Wi-Fi network and your device isn't currently connected to a Wi-Fi network, perform a factory reset on the physical device. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

Best,

Jennifer
