Enabling Free Built-in Channels in Chromecast

Hi. I have two 4K Chromecast with the same firmware installed. One of them shows the Free Built-in Channels from Google under the Live tab, but the other one doesn't. How can I enable this in the second one? See images below.

I'm having the same issue. Out of 4 device, 2 show the new guide, 2 do not. When I manually choose to check for a system update, it says it's already up to date.

I have exactly the same issue. Both have the same build, both the same firmware version.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. This feature is still ongoing and hasn't reached its completion. Give it time for some of your devices to receive the patches. Check out this link for more information. Let me know if you have questions.

Yes, I did. Sorry, I thought I had responded. Thank you. It's just frustrating we got the update on the television that didn't really need it, but not yet for the one that really does.

Hi everyone,

 

The official post indicated:

 

“The new live TV experience will be rolling out to all Google TV devices in the U.S. over the next few weeks, and we also plan to bring the new TV guide and free channels to eligible Android TV devices later this year.”

 

@TomNB, you can switch it to different TVs given that all of these are on the same Wi-Fi network. You can just rename the TVs.

 

@Rjreedjr, the official post didn’t include specific dates. Just stay tuned for announcements.

It’s been over 5 weeks since announcement. I still don’t have it. When is rollout expected to finish?

If there is nothing I can do to enable the live channels and no further specifics on the rollout, there isn’t any help that can be provided. A “few” weeks would translate to 3-4.  It’s been 6 already.

Seems odd that it was advertised as available “now” 8 weeks ago. I still don’t have it. Pretty frustrating and misleading.

Hey I have the same issue. Are you logged in with the same account? Did you buy the dongles the same time? Did you try reset? Log out? Just trying to figure it out. Hey its Google. They don't really know what they are doing. 

I unplugged Chromecast from the outlet and after checked for update. It downloaded a 56mb update. Rebooted and nothing. I unplugged it again and bingo. Updated. Hope it might helps.
