Can the Google Chromecast with Google TV be powered from teh USB-C power out on the back of my TV instead of the supplied power supply?

That's where you may be wrong, I'm actually great fun at parties 😄.
The facts are as already stated. Google recommendations using their supplied power adapter. The specifications on the Sky glass website lists the USB C port as having enough power to power a Chromecast with Google TV.
This is a community forum supported by other users like myself and community specialists, without owning that TV and trying it out myself I can't say for sure if it would work or not.
Hopefully another Sky glass user can add more information for you.

Hi GoldenGraeme,
No it definitely is not advisable to do this as TV USB ports are not designed to power devices only transfer media.

That’s where you may be wrong, the USB C port on my Sky Glass is a power out supply too. Hence the question, can the Chromecast be powered by this.

Google recommend using the supplied power adapter.
Sky glass subscription service is not exactly a normal TV, the more relevant information users provide with their questions always helps others trying to provide the best possible answers.
From the specifications listed for the USB port on Sky glass it has enough power for a Chromecast with Google TV.

The power out on a USBC on a TV will be the same on any TV regardless of it being Sky Glass. My question was a simple one, can unit be powered buy a powered USB-C instead of the power supply, but thanks for your feedback and for your patronising tone, I bet your great fun at parties!
