Google assistant not working with my google TV Chromecast

When I hit the Assistant button on my remote control the Google assistant prompt shows up on my TV and it Trans scribes my search request but search results never appear. This just recently started. I have cleared the cache on the Google app with a Chromecast and reset the data. It does not help.
