Have to restart Google TV everytime to get volume to work

Everytime I try to watch TV my volume does not work. I can raise and lower on the screen but with no sound. Sometimes turning the TV on and off works, but usually i have to restart my Google TV thru settings. Is there a permanent fix that I'm missing. Both tv and Google TV are up to date.
