No sound most days.

Almost every day when I turn on my tv, my chromecast has no sound. I restart it, watch a show, and when I pick a different show, there is no sound again. I have to restart my chromecast again. Sometimes I have to restart it 2 or 3 times a night. I have tried a different hdmi plug and it is the same problem. Is there a way to fix the problem, it’s annoying to restart a device every time I want to watch a show. I have 2 other chromecast, and they don’t have this problem.

It is most likely played a basket - bad cable. Return it if it is still under warranty...

Sapphirekat, I'm sorry to hear that you're having an audio issue with your Chromecast. Let's sort this out. 

 

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? Is your TV connected to an external receiver, soundbar, or speakers? Is this only happening in one app or across all apps?

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Make sure the TV, sound bar, and/or receiver is not muted.
  2. Check if the no audio issue occurs from all apps or only when casting certain websites.
  3. Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible).
  4. Factory reset your Chromecast.

I ended up talking to someone from google. And they had me clear the cache. And that seemed to fix it so far.
