Spoken answers

Chromecast spoken answers are on even if voice recognition option is turned off (including accessibility options).

Is there any way to resolve this? I tried turning off the option in google settings using desktop computer (spoken answers is off), however chromecast search still speaks the info I have typed in chromecast search.

Hey there Ixtan,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Yes, there is a way to turn off spoken answers in the Chromecast with Google TV search. Here are the steps on how to do it:

  1. Go to the home screen of your Chromecast with Google TV.
  2. Select the search icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Select the gear icon in the top-right corner of the search bar.
  4. Scroll down and select "Voice search".
  5. Toggle off the "Speak results aloud" option.

Once you have turned off "Speak results aloud", spoken answers will no longer be played when you search for something using the Chromecast with Google TV search bar.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Hey Ixtan,

Sorry for the delays. Unfortunately, there's no option to add a snip for that. We're always looking for ways to improve — we'll take this as feedback. You can also send feedback by following the steps on this link.

Let us know if you have additional questions or questions about your device, otherwise, I'll lock the thread after 24 hours.
