Hi Jack, turning the TV off doesn't really turn off the CCwGTV -- I believe what happens is your CCwGTV goes into deep sleep, a lower power mode of sorts. I believe this is done so that it can keep your program schedules and firmware as close to up-to-date to avoid massive downloads of content info so you can start watching as fast as possible.
Your TV, since it lacks CEC, prevents the power off of the television (and the CCwGTV) from swapping signals to each other to put it in low power mode when turned off or going to full power when turned on. So, after a certain period of time, the CCwGTV will enter the low power mode on its own. I believe the default is 15 minutes, but you may be able to shorten/lengthen that time in settings. My guess is you probably have to turn the TV on then press another button on the remote to wake the CCwGTV from the low power state.
Keep in mind, you can set the CCwGTV remote to put the CCwGTV in low power mode immediately with the power button, instead of turning off the TV and then use the TV remote to turn off the TV. If you need help finding those settings let us know.
