Adding a new thermostat as “extension” of an existing one?

Hello all

We recently did an attic conversion and added a new room and third floor to our house. We currently have 2 thermostats (living room and master bedroom).

the radiators on the attic bedroom (new) have been connected to the heating of the second floor meaning that if the master bedroom thermostat falls below the desired temp it will also trigger the heating on the attic as well.

is there a way we can control or trigger the heating via a third nest thermostat, placed in the attic room without doing the complete nest to heat link wiring? Basically what I’m saying is that the 3rd nest thermostat is a stand alone one that requests the one on the master bedroom to fire up the heating if temp on the attic goes below the threshold.

Almost conviced this is not possible but just wanted to hear from experts.

many thanks

Hi there and thanks for reaching our Community. At this moment, The Nest Learning Thermostat is not able to have differentiated heating by zones. The only way to do this is to install a new thermostat for the new zone, so you may have separated heating.

THank you Tudor. Then I guess a full instalation is required. Regards
