All my Bose and nest products hardly ever work with google home

Community Member

I’ve been on Google home for about a year now and from the very start it has never properly worked with Bose. It works with most of my other smart devices such as Philips Hue but for some reason all my nest cameras and Bose speakers aLwyas have problems, such as:

  • Can’t connect to more than one speaker at a time - it says there is ‘problems with the cloud’ - I try making a new speaker group then it doesn’t let me delete the old one - so I currently have 4 speaker groups called the same thing
  • I can’t access ‘accessibility ‘ option on any Bose speaker - problems with the cloud
  • All Bose products get unlinked and I have to reset everything probably two or three times per month
  • my Bose speaker used to notify me when someone rang my nest doorbell, now it very rarely does anything
  •  the Bose soundbar 500 is by far the worst out of all my products for these above issues
  • I have a ‘ bose portable’ which I often have to reset and reinstall , recently where I have reinstalled it I now have three ‘Bose portables’ in the home app which I’m unable to delete…..

I don’t think this is related to wifi as I have a pretty good signal and Alexa seems to have no issues but I don’t really like the app and Alexa is not compatible with nest apparently so no use to me.

I’ve contacted google and Bose etc several times but never any solutions - driving me crazy…. If anyone has any suggestions I’d like to hear them

Hi Lukep,

We understand that your issue is isolated to Bose speakers and soundbars. Please note that we have very limited support for third-party speakers with built-in Google Assistant, like Bose. It is best to report this to Bose support for better assistance.

If you need help with your Google Home or Nest speakers, please do not hesitate to reply to this thread, and we're glad to assist you further.

Kind regards,
